Susan Jensen Smith is founder and owner of Rooms That Work LLC, a home staging and interior redesign company.
Founded in 2007, Rooms That Work LLC was initially established in Connecticut to provide an inexpensive solution for homeowners, whether selling, moving, or simply staying put.
Her company’s motto “your home, only better” reflects her belief that every home has the potential to be the best it can be. It has also become the name of her spin-off blog (www.yourhomeonlybetter.com) geared for the practical home enthusiast, covering decorating, entertaining and organizing content.
Prior to launching Rooms That Work, Susan worked in the marketing and ecommerce world for over 15 years. She holds a B.S. in Marketing from The Ohio State University and an M.B.A. from Capital University. Her extensive marketing experience enables her to view homes from the perspective of a potential buyer or guest, understanding what really motivates consumers.
Her love of interior design comes from her passion for beautiful and efficient design. She has moved four times in the past 13 years and has great empathy for what buyers and sellers go through. She loves the challenge of primarily using existing pieces to create new and refreshing design. She has strong DIY tendencies and is often found thrifting and painting to find design solutions.
Susan is a member of the Benjamin Moore Advisory Board, and has recently earned the RESA-PRO™ designation from the Real Estate Staging Association®, illustrating her leadership and commitment to the home staging industry.
